Race and the Environmental Movement - A Conversation
On January 24th, a group of 112 Faith in Place friends from diverse racial and religious backgrounds gathered at the Chicago Cultural Center for an evening of conversation about race, nature, and the future of the environmental movement. The night involved reflections from a panel of six diverse voices from the movement, as well as general discussion and some Q&A. We sought to create a safe, inclusive space to discuss a difficult topic. Our vision was well-received; the event was an enormous success! The conversation was so fruitful that we could have talked all night!
Faith in Place will host more of these conversations in the future - please stay posted for more information! We seek an environmental movement that incorporates all voices, all cultures, all social positions. Please come and join the conversation!
