Ameren customers in Illinois are facing rate hikes just as the summer heat is kicking in. In fact, the average utility bill for Illinois residents in Ameren territory will increase about $40/month starting in June 2022. This is due to a number of factors, but none of them are direct effects of the groundbreaking Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), passed in 2021.
