
Chicago Faith Community Gardens Grant Opportunity
Faith in Place is excited to offer Chicago Houses of Worship grant assistance for their community gardens. Grants must be used to start or enhance community gardens and/or vegetable gardens in 2022. Gardens must be on property owned by a Chicago House of Worship and must include pollinator plants.
Application Deadline: Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 11:59 PM Central Time. Please submit your application through our online form.
Eligibility: Applicants must be Chicago Houses of Worship located on either the South Side; or in the Austin area on the West Side. Houses of Worship are churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, and other faith institutions.
Grant Amount: Three (3) grants, each in the amount of $1,500, are available for Houses of Worship located in the Austin area of Chicago.
Another three (3) grants, each in the amount of $1,500, are available for Houses of Worship located on the South Side of Chicago.
Grant Reporting: If your House of Worship receives a grant, then you will be required to report:

Data about your garden, including the number of volunteers involved; the size of your garden; and the number and type of plants.

Provide before and after pictures of your garden.

Submit a final project report to Faith in Place by October 1, 2022.
