From the Ground Up
Getting youth to reflect & act upon what makes up our environment, while practicing eco-stewardship within their local & global community starts right where you are! We bring our portable after-school & summer program to partner sites in Chicago. At sites like St. Ann Catholic School in Pilsen, St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lawndale, Concordia-Avondale Lutheran Campus and Christopher House in Logan Square, we teach youth about their place in the natural world and expose them to unique experiences.Activities like river water testing, harvesting honey at a local bee apiary, learning about the coal plant in our backyard, growing gardens, and community mapping give them real-world opportunities to explore their relationship to environment!

Within a faith-based perspective...
Looking to incorporate eco- stewardship into your religious education? We're available to assist by facilitating sessions and working directly with your team to identify special projects. We can also introduce you to terrific role models and guest speakers who can inspire youth! Here are some excellent resources for religious educators: webofcreation.org and the Green Vacation Bible School curriculum from Georgia Interfaith Power & Light.

Creating Butterfly Gardens
Through a grant through the U.S. Forest Service, we have installed 7 butterfly gardens that provide habitat for all sorts of critters, including the beloved Monarch butterfly! Birthing a butterfly garden is an amazingly easy way to provide a creative learning setting where kids can explore to their hearts' content while also providing much need habitat in this region of the Monarch's fly-way zone.
Please inquire to learn more about landscaping with native plants & other opportunities to green your space.
