what′s new : Youth install 500 weatherization kits - December 15, 2009
The youth at New Mt. Pilgrim MB Church, Avalon Park UCC, and several other congregations took part in our City of Chicago's low-cost weatherization program. Youth and their adult sponsors were trained on how to install window weatherstripping, outlet insulation and other low-cost measures. Between them the youth installed 500 kits for their mostly elderly neighbors. Four youth tied for the prizes for most kits installed, in installing 17 and the other three installing 16 each. We note that the prize-winners were all girls, but we think the boys did a great job too!
